Karyakinsky Park
The Karyakinsky Garden is named after its creator, merchant Vasily Aleksandrovich Karyakin, and occupies a special place among the Rybinsk gardens and parks.
The Karyakinsky garden with gazebos and a fountain appeared on the initiative and at the expense of Karyakin in 1901 on the site of a former swamp. Next to it is the second city four-grade men's school. The garden was created on a grand scale from the very beginning, there were about a hundred plants from different climatic zones in it.
In the early Soviet years, the garden fell into disrepair. During the Great Patriotic War, bomb shelters were dug in it, destroying many landings in the central part. After the war, the green corner was reconstructed, but there are almost no rare tree species left in it. But there were attractions and playgrounds, and the place began to be considered a pioneer.
In 2018, the Karyakinsky Garden was opened after reconstruction. The workers cleared the pond and formed the banks, planted new trees and shrubs, laid flower beds, sprinkled paths, installed lanterns. A little later, squirrels were settled in the trees, and fish in the pond. In 2019, the work will continue with the restoration of the decorative bridge, and there are plans to revive the fountain located in the garden.
